قام البحث بدراسة جذور الأسلوبية عند العرب والغربيين، وطريقة تناولها للنصوص، كما أبان عن نشأتها.
كما أبان البحث عن نشأة البلاغة وتعريفها، والعلاقة بين البلاغة والأسلوبية، وهل الأسلوبية امتداد للبلاغة أو كل منهما مكمل للآخر.
جاء البحث في ثلاثة مطالب: الأسلوبية نشأتها وماهيتها، البلاغة نشأة وتطورا، بين الأسلوبية والبلاغة.
ومن نتائج البحث: الأسلوبية ليست مقابلة للبلاغة، وإنما تقابل النقد ، وهي أقرب إلى كونها منهجا.
 
Stylistics and rhetoric are intercultural and diverse.
The research examined the roots of stylistics among Arabs and Westerners, and the way it approaches texts. It also revealed its origins.The research also revealed the origins and definition of rhetoric, the relationship between rhetoric and stylistics, and whether stylistics is an extension of rhetoric or whether each complements the other.The research comprises three sections: stylistics, its origins and nature, rhetoric, its origins and development, and the relationship between stylistics and rhetoric.Among the research findings: Stylistics is not the opposite of rhetoric, but rather the opposite of criticism, and is closer to being a methodology.
